Supplemented by a „standard“ Google search to also find blogposts and marketing-style experience sharing

>3.4 million entries, <10 matching regulatory medical writing and agile)

  • Search string: (agile AND (writing OR „medical writing“ OR „regulatory writing“) AND regulatory)

Steps:

  1. Perform search
  2. Manually screen of the first 100 search results (pre-sorted by relevance) for relevant topics, e.g. excluding agile manufacturing and software development, medical writing in general, writing in general

Pitfalls:

  • If literature title or abstract did not include any of the search terms at all (e.g. if no search engine optimization was applied), the searches would not find them.
  • The most relevant published literature was for example hard to find (manually found), as the title was „Agile Strategies in the Rigid Regulatory Environment“ [Towles and Casavant, 2022]. The term „regulatory writing“ only appeared in a single sentence at the end of the abstract.
